Kianda School, Dashing Dolphins dominate PIPSSA Long Course Invitational Championships

Teams are now looking forward to the upcoming Mt. Kenya Aquatics Invitational Swimming Championships on 9 March at Nyahururu Elite Schools

Kianda School and Dashing Dolphins reigned supreme and showed their dominance in the latest edition of the PIPSSA Long Course Invitational Championships staged on Saturday 17 February at Kasarani Aquatics Arena.

The two institutions led their way in the girls and boys categories respectively, and were top two in combined scores, with St. Bakhita coming in third behind Dashing Dolphins in second accruing 1260 points.

Kianda School led the way with 2,452 points while Dolphins put up 2285 points thanks to their impressive 1,250 score in the boys category.

The development championship attracted sixteen teams and over 400 swimmers from the Nairobi region, including among other teams: Nova Pioneer, Kiota School, SDPK Swim Club, Kuraiha Primary School, Orca Whales, Condor Swim Club, Mt.Kenya Academy, Thika Marines, Pro Swim Club and Foresight Academy.

Barbra Muthui was among the standout swimmers for Kianda School in the 14-15 girls categories, with the duo of Jeremy and Joshua Kombo impressing for Dashing Dolphins in the 50 LC Meter Breaststroke events.

16 year old John Ndung’u won the Boys 16 & Over 50 LC Meter Breaststroke event for Maldolphins, with Tunza Mundia and Elsie Nanna emerging tops in the 50 LC Meter Kickboard Race.

Meanwhile, distinguished figures, including Tony Muthee, Governor Nyeri Aquatics, graced the occasion, lauding the organizers for their efforts and acknowledging the impressive growth in swimming development.

Muthee rallied teams to gear up for the upcoming Mt. Kenya Aquatics Invitational Swimming Championship on 9 March at Nyahururu Elite Schools, emphasizing the simultaneous inclusion of a staff soccer tournament.

As anticipation builds for the Aberdare Aquatics Development Swimming Championship at Mpesa Foundation Academy Thika this Saturday, sanctioned by Kiambu Aquatics, the spotlight turns to teams like Crawford International School, led by the visionary Head Coach Omar Ali Omari.

With excitement in the air, Omari anticipates a thrilling gala, poised to motivate his swimmers and showcase their exceptional talents on a broader sports stage.
